I trialed a lot of apps running my own store. The hard part was never finding options. It was that almost nothing told me whether a tool was built for a brick-and-mortar, multi-vendor shop or just for ecommerce, and those are not the same business. I lost a lot of time to that, and I talked to a lot of people.
These ten are what I landed on. Klaviyo, Gorgias, ManyChat, Shopify and Slack are the ones I actually scaled the store on. The other few I found later, working with other teams, and they solve problems I was doing by hand at the time.
Every price is real and current, because adding technology to a store is overwhelming enough without a surprise on the invoice, and because somebody on your team has to own each of these. You don't need all ten. You do need a plan for which ones and in what order.

Where to start
Where I'd start at your size
You don't need all ten. Here's the order I'd go in, and roughly what it costs a month at the entry tier.
One location, one or two people
You’re still doing every job yourself.
- Max Retail
- Shopify + POS
- Invoe
- Pimsical
- Klaviyo
- ManyChat
- Slack (free)
about $170 a month
One location, a real team
You have staff, a growing list, and more customer questions than you can answer alone.
- Everything above
- Gorgias
- EasyTeam
- Google Voice
about $400 a month
Two or more locations
Multi-vendor, multi-door, and the spreadsheet stopped working a while ago.
- Everything above at higher tiers
- POS Pro per location
- Slack Pro
about $800 a month and up
Want a second opinion on yours?
Tell me what you're running now and where it breaks. Wiring these together is most of the work, and it's the part we do.
Partner links. Some links here are partner links, marked as such on the card. If you sign up through one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It doesn't change what makes this list. Every tool is one I ran my own store on or set up for a client, and the plain link to each company is always the one on the card.
Invoe is ours. We build it. That's said on its card rather than buried down here.
